We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your personal information.

1. Who We Are
Andra ("we", "our", or "us") is a location-based dating application designed to help people make genuine, real-life connections. This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Andra mobile application and website.
2. Data We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Name, email address, date of birth, and gender
- Profile photos (minimum 2 required for face verification)
- Profile information: interests, nationality, religion, zodiac sign, relationship goals
- Messages exchanged with other users
- Private Spot locations you set within the app
Information collected automatically
- Precise GPS location (only while using the app, with your permission)
- Device information: model, operating system, unique device identifiers
- App usage data: features used, time spent, interactions
- Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, crash reports
Biometric data (Face Verification)
To ensure every user is real, we perform a facial scan during registration. This scan is compared against your uploaded photos. Biometric data is processed solely for verification purposes and is deleted immediately after the verification check is complete — it is never stored on our servers.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide the service: Showing your profile on the Dating Map, enabling matches and chat, displaying events
- Verification: Confirming your identity via face scan to prevent fake accounts
- Location features: Displaying your position on the map to nearby users (respecting your Private Spots)
- Safety & moderation: Detecting and removing fake, abusive, or harmful accounts
- Communication: Sending app notifications, match alerts, and important service updates
- Improvement: Analysing usage patterns to improve app features and performance

4. Location Data & Private Spots
Andra is a location-based app. Your approximate location is shown to other users on the Dating Map when the app is active. We have built-in privacy protections:
- Private Spots: You can set up to 3 locations (e.g. home, work, gym) where you will never appear on the map, even if you are physically there. Each private spot has a 100–200m invisible radius.
- Fuzzing: Your exact GPS coordinates are never shown to other users — only an approximate location.
- Control: You can disable location sharing at any time from your device settings or within the app.
5. Data Sharing
We only share your data in limited circumstances:
- Other users: Profile information you choose to make public (name, photos, interests, etc.)
- Service providers: Trusted third parties who help us operate (e.g. cloud hosting, analytics) — bound by strict data processing agreements
- Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred — you will be notified in advance
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:
- Your profile is removed from the Dating Map immediately
- Your personal data is deleted within 30 days
- Messages may be retained for up to 90 days for safety and moderation purposes, then permanently deleted
- Biometric face scan data is deleted immediately after verification
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable laws:
- Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
- Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
- Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection: Object to certain processing activities
- Restriction: Request we limit how we process your data

8. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- End-to-end encryption for messages
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
- Encrypted storage for sensitive data at rest
- Regular security audits and penetration testing
- Strict access controls — only authorised staff can access user data
No system is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at security@andra.app.
9. Children's Privacy
Andra is strictly for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we discover a user is under 18, their account will be immediately terminated and their data deleted. If you believe a minor is using Andra, please report it to safety@andra.app.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of Andra after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
